No human parent would do that. I guess only deities are allowed to behave immorally. So why do some god-believers think morals come from deities?

If you never reprimand your child, they will be wild and disrespectful. If a child continues on this path you have to let them go and hope they find their own way. Hopefully life will teach them a thing or two and they will return to the one who truly loves them. It is all about what your choices are. A child can choose to be obedient and live off the fat of the land or they can choose to be disobedient and except the consequences. Their choice. If you had a child and that child decided that it was OK for them to slap you in the face at their convenience. Would you let them do it with out giving them a consequence. Would you say that it was OK because that is the "path" that they chose. NO! There are rules for everything. Every time we go against God's Will it is like slapping him in the face. He wants what is best for us but we keep whining "but that doesn't feel good". Everyone knows that everything that feels good is not good and vice versa. Unprotected sex feels good but you could and might get AIDS. Immunization shots don't feel good but they protect you from things like hep c. You want God to be what you want him to be instead of him being what he is. He is not like a earthly father, that if you bat your eyes at him and plead with sugar on top and a cherry, he is going to let you do something that might hurt you in the long run. No he is not going to give you his blessing on that. He knows what the future holds. Choose to trust him and I make a solemn promise, YOU WONT BE SORRY!

The Christian concept of God is highly flawed. No loving God would torture people, let alone for all eternity. Any being that says I love you as long as you worship me other wise I am going to send you to the lake of fire...that's not unconditional love, there's tons of conditions to his love.

God is truth. He was truth before humanity was created. He was perfect, just, and righteous. He cannot and will not be associated with sin of any kind.
Then He created humanity, perfect and sinless, just as He was. but man chose to sin and spiritually die, thereby separating himself from God.
Man did the separating...not God.
Even though that happened, God made a way for humanity to be reconciled to Him. He lived a sinless life, and gave His blood as an atoning sacrifice for us, so that we may have the opportunity to commune with Him.
He said, "Greater love has no man than he who would lay down his life for a friend."
I'd say that is unconditional.

When we are born we are children of Adam, not God.We are born of water(the bursting forth of the womb) but we need to be born of the Spirit to be complete body ,soul ,and spirit.Otherwise we are 2 dimensional not 3.Once you ask Jesus into your heart you recieve the Holy Spirit forever. Now ,if you screw up,God my "chastise "you but He will never send you to Hell. Now you are adopted into the family of God.Jesus said "All that the Father gives me ,I will in no way cast out." also,"Believers are in the Fathers hand and no one can take them from Him."Hebrews 12 talks about these things as does John 3,and John 14.

Quite a few to be quite frank. Even Atheists would do that!
Everyone has a line in the sand, although I'll be the first to admit women bend the rules a lot for their own children.

Your missing the point. God isnt throughing people to hell just cause he wants to. You have to remeber the fact that we are sinners and dont deserve the unconditional love he gives to us if we believe in him. He doesnt want to but we deserve it. The wages of sin is death but the true gift of christ is eternal life. And we all have fallen short of the glory of God. We don't deserve heaven or anything God gives us. But he gives it to us when we ask for it. (that doesnt mean hes going to give you a bike tomorrow if you ask though) What i mean is if you ask God for forgiveness then He will give it to you and forget it forever.
may God bless you and everyone you love!

God will not force anyone to spend eternity with Him if they turn their back on Him. If you really thought about it....God makes every effort to reconcile us to Him. But people choose to reject His way to salvation. They choose not to believe in Jesus. God will not force anyone to endure His presence if they do not wish to be in it.....and many don't.
By the way, there is absolutely nothing in the bible that says God's love is unconditional.

what about when the children don't listen to "Daddy" when HE tells them not to put their hands on the hot stove eye? When HE has warned them and interceded time and time again to keep them from getting burned, yet they keep on sneakin and end up burnt anyway? I see people going to hell like that...GOD gives us chance after chance after chance and yet we just gotta touch that hot eye...is it HIS fault that we are long headed and won't listen to HIS good words?
