Ok in a couple of weeks I have a salon appointment to get my hair cut && possibly dyed. Possibly.

So I have very long, light brown hair that I'm going to get shoulder level & down layers in [but I'm leaving it long]. I've never dyed or even highlighted it ;; but I'm getting sick of the color. Although it usually looks light golden brown, sometimes natural sunlight can give it this light auburn cast which I hate!!! So I wanted to dye it a little darker brown, which I think would look great against my fair skin & dark eyes. My eyebrows are slightly darker than my hair [why I don't kno . . I think its b/c my hair is sun-lightened] so they would match fine.

I kind of want a hair color like Rachel's [I actually look somewhat like her btw lol] here - http://images.zap2it.com/20060726/rachelbilson_foxtca_240.jpg

So should I dye it ??

& do you have any tips for keeping color-treated hair healthy & shiney ??

I would say just get some lowlights instead. That way the grow out won't be so bad if you don’t have the time to get the touch up when they start to show. And it will give you much better dimension than all one color would :) I would try shampoos and products from John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette hair care line to make sure the color doesn't fade and keep your hair healthy. Good luck!

I dyed my hair darker once and I went through a lot to get it back to my natural color because it's hard to cover dark dye with lighter dye, or so I was told. If you do dye it, be prepared to be that color for a while and to maintain the color, meaning go to the salon often. Maybe you could try a temporary dye first to see how you like it before committing to something for good.

I think you should dye it! Darker Brown sounds good! Use Pantine-ProV for colored hair. It has extra Amino Acids and will keep you hair its color for a long time. If you do dye get touch-ups every 4-6 weeks.

to tye dye there are some nutrition coloring bottles indoors the baking aisle which may be used for tye-dye, as long as they are going to dye eggs. then take the blouse and twist it in sections and tie with rubber bands and dip each and each and each and each section into your selected color. as for paint pens bypass to walmart or to a craft shop and that that they had have those.

Not to dye because your hair will not go back to its original color if you dye it.
