it's from the acid in your stomach and the bile that comes up. It scratches and pushes on your larynex and your vocal cords as it comes up.
Cough drops or some chloraseptic spray will help clear it up in a couple of hours.

Good Luck!

Gastric acid can do A LOT to your throat. Be careful! The sotmach is the most acidic place in your body. It can leave scar tissue on your esphogus. When you drink your gag reflex is hightened and also there is a spincter between your esphogus and your stomach that keeps the acid in, but when you drink-it can relax and that is how people get acid reflux. Maybe try Prilosec OTC and talk with your doctor.
PS- maybe you should stop drinking or else the scar tissue will be so bad, it may require surgery. Also, you are straining your vocal cords (for doctors-they are called vocal folds) which is just a tissue connection in your trachea...so the acid is damaging it...but trachea and esphogus are diffrent "tubes" so quit drinking so much right now to let yourself heal and go talk with a doctor.

The violence of throwing up does some damage to your larynx. It gets a bit scratched up and then you can't talk. The same thing happens if you've ever had a tube in your throat after having general anesthesia for surgery.
