Your name day/naming day is the day that you were baptized/wiccaned/christened/etc. It isn't specific to your name, but they day your parents said that they would raise you in their religion.

There is no "Melissa" on the Orthodox calendar. So first, you have to figure out who your patron is. Meliton of Sardis, April 1?
Or do you have a middle name?

My mother told me that Catholics in Poland had name days and not birthdays, She had never celebrated a birthday until she moved to America. She never explained how it worked, so I wouldn't know how to tell you except maybe if you found a calender with the names already on them.
