When you want to date, date. There's no mourning period. No one died.

Good question. Some people think you need to grieve 50% of the time you had with the old mate. Example... 2 year relationship = 1 year off! Good Lord that seems too long. I would make sure you have some time for yourself in there and enjoy being by yourself. You may surprise yourself by your new life! Good luck

There is no mourning period that I know of. Just jump on in but remember to keep it light. Don't talk about your long term relationship on dates. Don't talk like you want to get into another serious relationship on your dates. Just go out and have fun.

Hmmm that depends. You could meet someone shortly after, who will just pretty much help you get over the break up (rebound).

Or you may just want to stay single for a while. It depends on how serious you get with people, and it depends how hurt you are.

I heard you should wait a month for every year you were together for. So if you were together for 3 years, wait 3 months.

If you feel like you may have met someone after a long term relationship, then go for it.. I don't think there is a "time limit", it's how you feel and if you feel like you are ready to move on. Good Luck!

About 2 years, 8 months, 14 days, and 32 minutes should do it. You'll be out of the rebound stage by then.

If that doesn't work for you, then at least 6 months.

I broke up with my boy friend of three years and started dating within a month. But there is an unwritten rule somewhere that says you should wait two weeks for every six months that you dated your ex. Obviously that meant nothing to me.

You should give it a little time, make sure what your doing is not something you are going to regret. When it feels right you will know. Take your time and be patient, maybe try letting love find you. Happy Valentines day

As soon as you feel ready, just make sure that you are not just trying to fill up an empty space left by your boyfriend. That is not fair to the pther person.
