When you ETS out of the army do you have to have your MyStar card or your Take It Home card paid in full before you can clear post? Or will they send you a regular bill in the mail after you have ETS'd?

although AAFES is part of the military....the BANK that collects your payments is contracted out by the government for these accounts. those are the ppl that you need to contact about that information.
at the moment (because the military star card keeps BOUNCING from banks to banks lately..drives me nuts) i think they are with Chase Credit Services. so you will need to contact them about that.

i would think...like any other credit lender they would continue to send bills to the current address you've given them.

I don't know but I'm going to watch the results of your question. I have a Military Star card and a Take It Home card, and my husband is getting medboarded here in the next few months. We've been worried about whether or not they have to be paid, too. Great question!!!

I don't think they would need to be, but you never know...

usually your final paycheck will not be released until you are paid off. the same goes for when you pcs/ets they try to get you to have a $0 balance. remember they will get their money and they can report it to collection bureaus and your credit report. it all depends on how your payment history has been.

I am pretty sure you have to have it paid off before you get out. On your final outprocessing checklist you will have to be signed off on financial debt.

That's an interesting question and not one that I've really thought about.

I wonder if you can still keep it and shop online?

It's a good deal if you can.

in their eyes, life ends when you ETS. so everything you had needs to be taken care of before then, or no LES
