So I asked her to the Semi-Formal (dinner and dance) coming up, I was so happy when she replied yes! Today was the day to buy tickets and when I went to buy both of our tickets she refused to let me buy hers! We argued a little and then she jumped in front of me and bought hers! Like they guy is suppose to buy the ticket! I was angry and annoyed (but I didnt show it). Now this is my question,

Why would she demand to buy her own ticket?

Some girls are just independent. I'm like that about certain things when I first decide to date someone or hang out with them...Don't read too much into it...let things flow...be cool, be her friend...don't stop trying and sometimes insisting (without getting mad) to pay. If she wants to pay her way sometimes, let her but always be a gentleman and offer.

She might not just want to stress you. She might like you so much she does not want you to think she is a gold digger. Or maybe she is independent.

On the other hand maybe she wants to dance or leave with someone else. Maybe she is making someone else jealous and then wants to get back with them. Or maybe she wanted to go with someone that was not sure and did not want to hurt your feelings.

You should just ask her and if she takes a long time to answer you might want to worry.

I'd have done the same thing!! she wanted to buy her own ticket is that so hard to comprehend!?!?
there is no rule in the book that says that guys have to pay for dates. it's a sweet gesture to offer to pay but insisting on it and getting angry about is just plain stupid!!!!!!!!
YOU NEED TO GET OVER YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll never really know till you ask her..
Honestly there isn't really a problem with goin dutch, it just shows how independant a lady can be when having fun too.

She, like most girls, feel guilty about letting the guys buy things for them. I am a girl myself, and i would rather I pay for my stuff and he pay for his.

well, when u owed some1 something or a favor , it means that eventually u gonna have to pay it back to em...thats probably y she dont want u to pay for her ticket. it is easier to say no to some1 when they want u to do something if u dont owe em anything.

i guess she thought its fair.... i mean otherwise, u'd have to pay it all, ur self... and she must have felt bad about it.... :)

just dont think about such stuff too much....

things like that sometimes have hidden answers[which are not worthy of spending time, most of the times] so just forget it and have fun with her.... :)

Appreciate that she wanted too - at least you know if it goes further that she will never expect you to pay her way - nice independent girls are hard to find
