Does Anyone know if living at HIGH ALTITUDES hurts your JOINTS?

I was like a mile up in the mountains for a week, and when I got back to 1000 foot altitude, my HIP was KILLING me!! Any CLUES to what could have caused my Hip joint to go on me?

That is very unlikely. I lived in Denver, CO for ten years and never heard of that kind of thing happening.
