The world has been really bad for a long, long time. Even in biblical times, if you read the bible, you will find rape and killing and all kinds of awful stuff. i think now with ease of communication it only seems like bad stuff is happening more. Oh, and also, there are a LOT more people in the world now than there have ever been. Don't stop praying though. Your prayers are heard. But the Lord knows best....

NEWS FLASH:
A study was conducted at a hospital which compared patients that were being prayed for by family and church groups, compared to those who received no prayer.
While no one walked away that same day - the prayed for patients recovered faster than those who received no prayer. The study was done by a secular group hoping to find no difference at all.
We have no control over the decisions the world makes. You are talking about life choices and such. I can pray all I want for Kim Jung-il to turn to God, but ultimately the choice is his. I can pray all I want that he will start treating his people more humanely - but ultimately you cant help those who don't want it.
Your logic presumes all prayer should bring about global positive change. It doesn't work that way. Lastly - I can pray for you to receive Jesus in your heart, and God can present you with many opportunities to receive Jesus as God's only Son and as redeemer of your soul - BUT - its your choice. No one is going to force you to do anything.
Middle East Islam would force you to accept Islam at gunpoint or at the end of the blade - but the God of the Jews and Christians gives you a choice. Think about it.

The world will continue to take another step in the wrong direction as long as Satan is in control of it.
People pray because they are looking for guidance, help, security, and answers to questions.

If what you say is correct, sounds like the time for a quote:
"The Satanist shuns terms such as "hope" and "prayer" as they are indicative of apprehension. If we hope and pray for something to come about, we will not act in a positive way which will make it happen. The Satanist, realizing that anything he gets is of his own doing, takes command of the situation instead of praying to God for it to happen. Positive thinking and positive action add up to results." - The Satanic Bible by Anton LeVay
(NOTE: I am not a Satanist)

I don't think that is true at all. Studies show that out of the couples that pray together, only 3% of them get a divorce, out of the 50 % that do. Prayer works only if you have faith. If you have no faith, God won't answer. People say "I pray and pray" but do you pray with your heart and wait with humility and patience?

It would be hard to establish that fact. There are millions being saved in Africa in just single meetings. That is the proof of prayer. Keep your eyes open God is going to be doing some big things and your not going to want to miss it.

Prayer is not a sacrament. It is not meant to cleanup the world and make it a better place. Jesus said He could have called down angles to His aid but His prayer was "Not My will but Thy will be done".

Who said that more people are praying?
Maybe they are praying the wrong thing...many people don't pray for God's will to be done - they pray for what they want....maybe they should change their prayers.
