I'm trying to figure out how the latter makes the former any easier to swollow?

First of all the word you are looking for is "swallow", and secondly the answer to your question is simple: people are stupid. Keep in mind who these people are that are pumping out child after child. They are uneducated, low income earners. Intelligent people know better than to have 5 children.
Unfortunately because of the fact that smart people are reproducing less than the peasants, society is gradually becoming stupified.

First i would like to say every one is complaining about the cost of living!!
And yes i am planing to have my second child but i know me and my husband can survive,, just means what we have to work harder and sacrifice more..
I am not on welfare thank you to all of those idiots that replied..
Being a parent comes with sacrificed and with a family it opens your eyes to responsibilities and make you realize life isn't cheap.
I do agree that there are some people out there that are popping out more kids for no good reasons but the rich do it to hum hum Britney for example..
It don't matter how much money you got or what you can buy your kid that makes a good parent..
And by the way my mother was a single mom who raise me and i am so glad she had my brother as well!! and she did it all on her own no welfare..
She couldn't get me everything i wanted but she taught me morals, respect and appreciation for other things in live.
Hope that's and eye opener to half these people that answered!

These same people think its too expensive to buy birth control. I have 2 kids...married ...two incomes and we would love to have another...but with a teenager and a pre-teen they would have to go without a few things to allow the third child to come into play. It makes me ill sometimes in the supermarket watching people with three or more kids...paying with state funded money..but have coach bags, nails and hair done...and I am in work scrubs on a budget...and paying for them with a portion of my taxes paying for them to stay home and chill out while we have to work daily to maintain daily survival. It may sound messed up to say, but that really gets me.

First of all...................to the comment that rich people like Britney That pops out babies.................... Yes she does however she can afford it, she isn't depending on the state to pay her bills or the child's. But You need to be patted on the back for working so hard to support your child. We need major reform, If you work full time and need help OK, but if you wanna sit on your *** and say the government can take care of you, then you dont deserve it.
Most people that complain about the cost of living aren't living on welfare. You take a person that gets food stamps and make them pay for food with money they earned and OMG then you will hear someone ***** about prices. I bet if they all lost the food stamps and got told to go to work, when they bought groceries, they would shop alot better then they do paying with food stamps. !!! Those people buy JUNK, And never sale stuff.
The government should require the 98.00 a month prem. per person for medical that medicare charges our seniors THATS CANT WORK. and make them pay 20% out of their own pockets....... If a senior making only 300-700 a month can do it so can someone that can work. And dont forget the 39.00 a month for medications plus a copay of as little as 2.00 each up
to 90.00 each.

SOME...I'm saying some, now...have kids so they can get bigger welfare checks. Others because of religious convictions on birth control. Others...because they're trying to repopulate the earth. Go figure that one. Some people are just tooooooo lazy to use a condom.
