*Comfort Wrap Step In Harness*
I have a dog that has a head that is shaped for easy pull out of regular collars....
She wears the collar but only for her Identification tags.
When we walk her or take her to the park we put the Harness on her.. We have been doing this for seven years. No slip outs...And easy to put on her. She just steps in and it fastens in the back..

Agree with Kimmy - if a smaller martingale collar doesn't work - the only option is a harness like she described. The other answers about using choke collars are not good - could end up really harming the IG.

I'd recommend a martingale type harness. A company called Wiggles, Wags & Whiskers makes a GREAT selection. That's where I got mine (for my Greyhounds)
Their website is http://www.wiggleswagswhiskers.com/
Click on the link..... where to shop, so you can find the nearest store to you or order from a website listed.
Hope this helps.

Maybe you need a smaller martingale. My Whippets never get out of theirs. If a smaller one doesn't work, try a chain collar. I don't like them on skinny Hound necks, but it is better than having her slip free.
Try here-

Re: your other answers, regular buckle collars do not work well on Sighthounds, their heads are not much bigger than their necks.
Dani & Erica - YEAH....a martingale. LOL!

You should get a collar that is like a choke color but not a chain. It looks like a regular collar but tightens when you pull so it cant slip off their narrow head

I recommend a collar like this:
It's like a regular collar except it has a automatic tightener.
