Well blow drying it wothout putting some kind of protector on it tends to make it look dead..not alive.
Always protect your hair, stick with the hot oil treatments about 3 times a week, and deep condition your hair regularly. your hair should be revived in no time. Add volume with volumizing shampoos and conditioners..don't soley rely on a blow dryer.
Products I like inclode Biosilk, neutrogena triple moisture, Redken and Chi (GREAT PRODUCTS FOR HEAT PROTECTION && SILK FOR YOUR HAIR!!)
you can get these semi cheap at
folica.com
ebay.com
If you have some $$$ to spend visit Sephora.com They have pricier (but some great products too...)
Good Luck w/ ur hair!!

I've personally never heard of hot oil giving volume. Logically it would seem to weigh hair down and make it really shiny. Blow drying may be making it kind of unruly too. I would try a mousse or a spritzer while you are leaning over and then flip your hair back and see if that does it. If your hair just looks drab try taking some vitamins which might help the color liven up.

I keep sharing with people the trick that i use, but because of the format of it is hard to get feedback and find out is it is working as well for them as it does for me. I stead of using hot oil I use organic honey. Three times a week I use honey in the shower instead of shampoo. I just work it in and let it sit for about 5 min. before I rinse it out. There are a lot of protein and enzymes in honey that are good for you hair.

hot oil is ment to silk your hair, so make it MORE flat. try getting some root lifting spray and also just ask your hairdresser for some tips! unless your like me and have a hairstylist that uses way too many products in your hair :P, but try using just a little products and they have special volumizing products these days to help you out!

after you wash your hair....tie little braided pigtails all over your head....leave it in all day (or nite...sleep on it)....take out the braids...and you'll have very wavy hair....that will give you a very different look...my teenage daughter did it...( just for a change) and it turned out pretty cool...good luck!
