I am a 25 year old non smoker, non drinker female. I became sick on 01/31 with symptoms that seemed like bronchitis and what felt like strep throat. The throat pain was odd because it was only on the right side. I could see yellow blisters and red lines in my throat on the right side. I finally went to the doctor and got antibiotics on 02/06 after I still felt sick. I have been taking the antibiotics. Today I woke up and my throat is no longer sore, however if I yawn it feels like there is a "pulling" sensation in my throat with pain. I can eat, drink, and swallow without pain, it is only upon yawning. Also, throughout this time my ear does hurt slightly. If I look in the back of my throat, the right side (which is the one that hurts) appears to have "extra" skin tissue in the VERY back of my throat and it is also swollen beside the ulva. Does anyone know what could be going on? I get worried easily and would appreciate any help or someone with knowledge of this.

Hi SomebodyGirl

You obviuosly still have the virus and havnet healed yet. Antibiotics surpress the issue to another location, so lets RAW galic cloves to kill the virus. Garlic will kill ANY virus if you eat enough of it! Eat of clove a garlic or just keep it your mouth for the rest of the mouth. The more you eat the faster you'll get better.
Be sure to drink a gallon of water a day as well to flush out the toxins in the blood.

Best of health to you

I do not think that the pain come from the throat. If you yawn especially very deep, you will open your mouth wider. The muscle then get stretched far from it can bear and your neurone automatically send a pain 'signal' and Auch..... This also cause your muscle to wounded. However, you do not need to worry since our body is not that weak, it will recover in few days. i had experience it too and 3-4 days later I do not feel the pain anymore. Don't forget not to yawn very wide between these days AND the next time you yawn since it will hurt your muscle worse. P.S. If you can't bear the pain maybe balm (hot) could help.

Our son had a very badly swollen tonsil which extended almost to the center of his throat when he was young. The doctor removed his tonsils and adenoids and told us there was an abcess behind the tonsil, which was what caused it to be so extended. But he had redness and soreness all the time with it.

I am no doctor, but you probably just need to finish your antibiotics and give it time, or even take another round of antibiotics to clear it up. Even a cut or scrape can take awhile to heal, especially if there is any infection present. You should give your doctor a call if you are worried.

I´m a 32 year old non smoker, non drinker female (and it´s no joke, ok?). Half a year ago, I started with symptons like yours. I was taking antibiotics like you and didn´t get better. I went to a specialist (don´t know how to say it in english -otorrinolaringologo, the kind of doctor that heals ears, nose and throat). He told me I had Cherry´s syndrome, that is laryngitis due to reflux (in spanish, Reflujo Gastro Esofágico). That means that the gastric fluids come out of your stomach and burn your throat. Maybe you can check Barrett´s esophagus, that is the illness that comes if you don´t take care of Cherry´s syndrome. You can help reduce the pain in your throat with medication and help your body this way:
-try to eat no condiments
-drink a lot of water
-don´t have heavy suppers, eat fruit (apples are great in the night)
-don´t go to sleep right after you eat (VERY IMPORTANT)
-go see a specialist if you don´t get any better by following this steps
Hope you get better soon. Feel free to email me.
(I got a lot better. I take omeprazol & ranitidina, you can take TUMS, they´re great also.)
