Faith is that assumption that what one feels is actually real, the truth. Often it is the conditioning of everyone ancestral meme that tells them what to believe (i.e. you are a hamster and life is a wheel). So like at night when some people are walking alone in a dark quiet forest, they feel all creeped out that there are spirits possibly around them...it is just fear, however, there is a faith that there is indeed a spirit there. But faith is actually a hunger. Faith is a human need to understand, name and conceptualize things we do not even have a grasp on to know. Faith is fear resolved and answered whereby the solution to many of life's big questions can be answered if you would only "believe".
Faith, then, is the reaction to fear that the unknown may be greater and unconcerned about your present or eternal existence. Everyone wants to live forever, that which says otherwise is the antithesis of faith.

Faith comes from the Greek word "Pisteo" and or "Pistis".It is a verb. When you take your belief and act on it ,you have faith.I 'believe' that 3 legged chair will hold me.When I sit in it ,I have had 'faith' in it.Sometimes faith is misplaced.Sometimes a person can have "Blind Faith" which is not faith at all but hoping against hope.Hebrews chapter 11 gives a great dissertation on faith.Faith in God's word .All those people didn't only believe God ,they hung their bodies on the" promises yet not seen".

Faith is believing in Jesus even when He is doing very little in your life that you can see. And as you continue to trust and obey Him just because He has so commanded you, then you are essentially telling Him that you want to draw closer to Him and when you do, then He draws closer to you and becomes REAL.
When this happens, faith changes. You no longer trust in Him who you have not met but trust in Him who you have now met.
Faith then becomes trusting Him to show up when you need Him. For example, when Moses went to Pharoah, he had already met God but after God met Him at the burning bush, He left Moses and only showed up later when He was before Pharoah so that when he dropped his rod, it became a snake. He dropped the rod by faith and trusted God (who he now knew) to show up when he dropped the rod and God did.
Faith grows like that. It starts with Jesus. He died for you and wants to become close to you. So, now if you draw close to HIm, He becomes real and then you move into deeper spiritual waters where you really know Him and trust Him to help you to do His will.
God is just so deep you can never figure Him out -- but at least you know where to start.

Faith is seeing things before they exist through the power of your imagination but based on eternal promises. Faith will make it so. Simply astounding results, yet very difficult to practice.

Faith means believing in something (like God) when there is absolutely no evidence to support the belief. It is supposed to be a gift from God, unfortunately it is a give that he never has given to me.

When you have faith and believe in something, it comes true. Faith is a dream come true.
