Camrys seem to hold value better, and their resale is a lot better then the sebring. I like the way toyotas are styled better then chrysler, but that's just me. The camry that I drove was really quiet and handled really well. I haven't really drove a sebring, so I can't say about that one.
I do know that camrys are built to last, and my parents had a corolla for over 10 years without much wrong with it, until my dad hit a deer with it. It ran forever!!
They are both priced pretty close, but the sebring can get more expensive if you add options, so you would have to look at that.
Go test drive them both and see what you think, then get quotes from the dealer on the ones you like. That will give you a better idea as to what to expect. You can also just go the dealerships and get brochures, or order them from their websites. Then you can compare the two and see which you like better.

Forget about anything on a Toyota being "cheap" to repair. The beauty of them, however, is that with proper maintenance you won't have to repair them very often. The first car I owned was a 1988 Toyota Tercel that I basically ran into the ground and it treated me better than it should have for 13 years. I currently own a 2001 Corolla that has served me well for eight years. I fully expect my next car to be a Toyota as well. Great fuel mileage, great customer satisfaction... I strongly recommend a Toyota as a first-time car. A Camry would be a sweet ride if you can get it at the price you want.

im a dealer for both chrysler and toyota. both have their merits. last time i had to make a choice between the two i bought a chrysler sebring that was in 2001. the reason i bought the sebring was i got a v6 w/ leather for the same price as the camry 4cyl w/ cloth. but...the toyota does carry a higher resale. if your keeping the car 8 to 9 years resale is not as big of a deal as both cars wont be worth a ton. but an 8 yr old sebring in good condition will be worth about $1500 where as an 8 year old camry will be worth about $3500. both cars are well made now and both will easily last you 5 to 6 years if you take care of them. the toyota will probably give you better long term service. since mercedes took over chrysler they have come leaps and bounds in quality and control. compare the new c class mercedes to the chrysler sebring. many of the same parts are used to make both cars especially the convertibles. toyota parts long term will cost you more than a chrysler part. the biggest difference is probably fit and finish. mechanically you'll be pretty good w/ either. but i do believe toyota does a better job on interior trim and overall build quality. youll have less rattles and loose pieces on the toyota long term. i dont keep a car longer than 2 or 3 years so to me its options vs. price more than long term. you just have to look at what you want and how long your going to keep it. (youll also notice after driving them that the toyota is a quieter vehicle.) but like i said..a v6 leather camry is going to run you $26-28k sticker vs $23-25k for the sebring. (sticker to sticker) if you do decide to get the sebring....i'd go for the v6. it seems to be a better engine. on the camry....either engine is great..i'd probably go for the 4cyl. not as powerful, but i think its a better engine.

Hey i think you should go for the camry because it is a japanese made car. Japanese cars such as toyota are number 1. They are ahead of GM so go ahead get the camry. ...if you ever want another choice for a car get a chrysler 300...its an awsome car or even a mazda 3

This is an easy one. Toyota. Higher resale value of Toyota's confirms that they are better built and longer lasting.
