I need to purchase an MP3 player to which I can attache an external microphone to record my own voice: I don't need to download songs from the internet. My recent trip to Best Buy was rather disappointing. The only models there had tiny built in microphones. I'm not considering an i pod because as far as I now they are not recordable. Also I need unit that has an output auxillary jack, as well as an AC power adaptor. What I really need it for is to record voice overs that I can download on my computer and send the wave files as attachments to my employer. Any other suggestions?

This is actually for my GF (girlfriend) :) and her employer.

I will recommend the CREATIVE ZEN Vplus. It has a regular sized input jack(3.5 mm dia) for your microphone. You can use an AC adaptor (buy from the Zen distributor also) to charge the unit. The headphone output jack can be used as an aux output jack. And it has a great software to upload your voice recordings to your computer.

speaking approximately kind, iPod is critical via fact in case you do no longer choose your iPod not greater, you may easily sell them. yet value clever, I recommend you purely get something else to get the main out of your money. I do own an iPod Video and that i'm disillusioned with the useful components. i've got faith my husband basically paid for the kind and that i think of that's considered one of those waste of money!

Get Creative Zen then...
Else, if they're using Macintosh get them an IPod Nano.
