I've been searching for myself through religion, and haven't found my place yet. So I'm looking for ideas on religions. This doesn't mean I will pick one, I just want some ideas to research. AS THE QUESTION STATES, non-christian is important. I'm not christian, and won't be. This isn't intollerence or ignorance, i went to a catholic school for 10 years of my life, so I know more about jesus and the Bible than most people could ever care to know. Which is why I won't be any for of Christian. So if you're going to preach, don't bother, it will fall on deaf ears.

Finding a religion that both makes sense to you and causes your soul to sing is a worthy challenge.

I highly recommend the following site:

http://www.religioustolerance.org

It has easy-to-understand articles on a wide variety of different religious paths.

You might also want to try the Belief-O-Matic quiz at:

Good luck, and have fun searching!

The Main Religions are Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Christianity. Judaism, Jainism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism, Taoism, and Shintoism are also significant faiths, but aren't as major an influence on humanity. In the "barely a religion" category is Wicca, New Age, Native American Spirituality, and Scientology; none of which have a significant enough history or scriptural base to really be comparable to the other Religions.

Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity are the major "evangelical" religions, meaning they tend to seek out new converts.

If you're interested in other religions, however, you really need to seek out reliable info on them. The first step would be to take a college level "World Religions" course.

Buddhist and Hindu, but I guess they aren't really religions. American Indians. All the great ones mentioned above. Jews and Muslims. I finally settled into a comfortable relationship with God and forget all the propaganda the christian religions try to sell. Good luck in your search. A belief system is very personal and I hope you soon find one that fits.

nicely, considering i became raised Christian, this is the single i'm the main accustomed to so the single I argue with the main. i'm quite valuable that is genuine of maximum individuals. I observed the author of a e book referred to as 'Infidel' and she or he became raised in an Islamist worldwide. i think of there are diffrent forms of Hindu and Buddist ideals yet considering they do no longer attempt to call for which you settle for what they say, i do no longer understand that anybody has bothered to purpose and tutor them incorrect. i've got seen some questions approximately Judaism and Catholicism on right here.

I think all the dharmic religions are beautiful, and most are ancient.

I'm a fan of both Hinduism and Buddhism. Though not dharmic, Paganism is also a very beautiful religion.
