One time changes your skins pigments even slightly despite not being able to see it. Every ones skin is different though, for some people it takes years to get that way and it can take a year of hardcore tanning to get that way for others. Skin that is lighter naturally, like a milky white, will leather slower generally because the pigments take more time to change to the tanned tone. Where as, someone with a darter starting point, like olive skin, wont take as long most of the time because the skin takes less time to get that tanned and changed. Becoming leathery and old looking happen especially fast if the person way over does it and becomes a permataner.

It's hard to say how many sessions. How fast your skin becomes leathery looking depends on how much you tan. It slowly happens over time - the more you tan, the faster it'll happen. As for the dryness, that pretty much starts to happen right away. It helps a little bit to use a tanning bed lotion, but you'll still get dry.

Your skin will start aging the first time you are in a tanning bed. How fast it ages and how bad it will look depends on how often you use the tanning bed, how long you stay in it per session, how healthy your skin is and how you take care of your skin. Keeping your skin moisturized and exfoliated will delay the effects of aging. If you use a tanning bed only occasionally, like a couple sessions before an important event you want to look tan for, it should not affect your skin so much as you can notice it. I, personally, like tanning lotions. Theytan my skin without the harsh effects of the tanning bed, and the lotion is also a moisturizer, helping to keep my skin looking it's best

The leading cause of cancer is from sunburns. Use lots of moisturizer and follow the time guidelines. Go to a reputable salon. Don't over do it. Tanning tans the outer layer of your skin. Some high pressure beds go deeper. Knowledge is the key. If your scared try the spray tan. I don't like the Mystic but, have found some others that are really good and look natural.

I don't know if there's a number of sessions. I DO know that "tan" means "skin cell damage." That's what a tan is. The more you tan, the worse your skin looks when you are older (and I don't mean when you are 70, I mean when you are THIRTY!).

And the more often you do it, the faster your skin will age.
I went to high school with a chick that started tanning after she was 16. By the time we graduated, she looked 30!!!

1 will start the process. Probably take years before you would notice as the change is gradual, however people that see you only very occassionly will notice a difference every time the see you.

I have heard ten minutes in a tanning bed is the same as an hour in the sun.
