Spencer's gifts which are in most malls in the US off a wide variety of tongue rings and also carry 12 gage rings but it is pierced with a 14 gage. Also Hot Topic carries a wide variety of rings. I would suggest that you stay away from plastic and use surgical steel especially if you have not had many tongue rings before

Cheap ... and quality don't exsist together. The better the quality the higher the price will be. I am allergic to any metal that isn't totally pure and they are the best quality you can get, but they come with a pretty hefty price tag. The cheapest ear rings I own are two 2" titanium bars I got from my piercer for $20. $10 a bar may not seem cheap but it's better than a lot of other things I've had to buy. I suggest you go to a piercing shop and check out the jewelry there. The stuff they carry will be best for you.

piercing pagoda, we have them around here at the mall, i don't know if it is a national thing or not. i also don't know if they really are good quality but they look tough. and i never use a tongue ring with plastic balls because they crack easily. i only use metal.
