I want to have my best friend close to my heart. I want to put a small amount of her ashes under my skin on my chest. Has anyonne ever done this kind of body modification? I would like to put the ashes in a very small metal capsule and insert it under my skin. Kind of like microchipping, but with ashes inside instead of electronics. I would like to keep it between the size of a grain of rice and the size of a pea. Your help on this would be greatly apreciated.

This is not a joke. I am not some sick or twisted person. I am a regular person in my 30's who has lost the most important thing to him. I don't use drugs, i don't rob. steal or murder. I just want my dog close to my heart for the rest of my life. I am sure that someone had to have something like this done before. There are lots of people that have done body modifications with photos all over the web. But i want to do it for personal reasons, not aestetic. I thougth about modifying a home again microchip and putting ashes in that, but i dont think they can be opened. Please only give responses if they are serious. I am very emotional and distresseed over the death of my dog.

I'm sure you could do it....but its going to be tricky to find someone to do it for you. On the latest season of Nip/Tuck there was a show that had one lady who put her boyfriends ashes in silicon breast implants so that she could have him 'close to her heart'. The show is fiction though so I don't know if a doctor would agree to that. Maybe you should just get a chain attached to the capsule and wear it as a neck lace so its still close to you .

You could always get some imbedded in a locket, or casing, that you can wear around your neck. Recognize that if you have a capsule imbedded under your skin, it might make you ineligible to fly, as you won't be able to get through airport security. IT's also something I think will be hard to find - you can find a jeweler that can imbed ashes into a metal object, that shouldn't be hard. But then you might have to seek out a cosmetic surgeon to do the surgery, adn they might not recomend it. If this capsule gets loose and moves under your skin, it could cause internal damage.

Personally, I think you aren't all that odd.
If you were really attatched to your friend I can see where you stand.
However, I think that the earlier tattoo idea would be wiser, not to mention safer if done by a medical professional.
I personally recomend that you take the ashes and mix them with cake batter.
Preheat the oven for ten minutes.
Pour batter into a nice pan and put it in the oven for a short while.
When the cake is done you can eat your friend's remains and he will always be with you.
You are what you eat.
Most of your pal's ashes will be absorbed by your body and used for tissue growth.
He will be with you for a loooong time.

You are thinking like this because of "emotional" reasons. If it is another person like you instead of a dog, what is the situation. All it happens because of emotional relation - rather emotional bond(age).
You have to be free from all emotional relationship with persons, things and happenings. Then only you will get the 'real' happiness from within. BE FREE from everything. Otherwise it is like you are binding you with other things.
It is a thought or suggestion only. It may be wrong. Good luck

The chip you implant into the exterior purely holds suggestion which would be regarded up after that is scanned....it would not function as a GPS monitoring gadget. the only GPS monitoring contraptions are issues you may in wonderful condition on the canine's collar. As of now, the GPS monitoring chips are too great to implant.

I'm sorry about your dog. You have my deepest sympathy on your loss. I've never heard of what you suggest, however, I have heard of a company that makes a man-made gem that you can wear as jewelry. They have some beautiful designs. You might want to think about this - - - not only would it be interesting, but you can have a visual reminder of your dog when you look at the gemstone. Makes a great conversation piece too. I've never had it done, but someday I might consider it if someone close to me dies.

this happened in nip/tuck, and if i recall correctly i don't think it ended up too well.
i don't know anyone in real life that will actually do it. it's probably some kind of health hazard, and if it isn't, they will say it is so they don't have to do it.
given the chance, i would have done something like that with my cat. i loved her more than life itself, and my parents kicked me out of the house and didn't let me take her with me, and she got lonely and died two weeks later. she died thinking i abandoned her (i know she's just a CAT how can she KNOW but you don't understand, i found her as a stray and raised her myself and we were inseparable. it broke my heart that she died, not because she did, because she was getting old, but because she died alone. if i had the chance i would have done this.

try purrint some in a heart shaped locket and wearing it around your neck.
you probably wont be able to get the ashes implanted, but this is the next best thing.
