Snickerdoodles are my favourite cookies. You don't have to chill the dough, but you can for an hour.
When rolling the little balls in sugar and cinnamon, I put it in a margarine tub or something similar and just roll them in that quickly. They keep their shape and I can do more than one ball at a time.
Snickerdoodles are one of the best cookies dipped in hot tea. Something happens between the two flavors and it is amazing.

No need to chill the dough for snickerdoodles. Chilling is usually done with dough for cut-out sugar cookies.

I love to bake snickerdoodles...the one of my most requested cookies from friends and family. They're actually my husband's favorite cookies that I bake.

I usually dont' bother. You want them to spread a little, since that is what gives the cracks in the cinnamon surface. But an hour or two wouldnt' be bad. Just cover airtight.

I usually don't chill the dough at all, though you can chill to make it easier to handle if you want.
