Since you arent officially dating yet, I would say the roses are a nice gesture, but that poem in particular might be a bit heavy, if not cheesy. :)
When my husband and I had JUST started to see each other, but before we had been intimate, he sent me roses to my work with a simple message that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He was out of town on a business trip and he said "I cant wait to take over where we left off". I was so excited to see him when he came back. :) We made love for the 1st time after that and have been together ever since.
Another word of advice. Don't allow the roses (or flowers, plants, balloons, cards) to stop coming once your relationship is established. We like to feel appreciated even AFTER you have won us over!

Different question: when you say "everlasting" red roses, you don't mean fake flowers, do you? I hope not. If a man gave me fake flowers I would be rather put off. I'm not saying that you have to go spend a fortune, but real flowers are always the best.

poem...try writing one from your heart, or a little love letter expressing your feelings for her, the message above"our friendship will last" sounds like your sending a friend the message and not your girlfriend.

i read about a person who gave his girlfriend a dozen red roses. 11 of them were real and one was a fake one. and the card said "I will love you until the last one dies". If she hasnt read this too, youre golden.
