Hi. Take a look at "Picasa". It's free and works pretty good. : http://picasa.google.com/

good programs to fix these photos (i.e. photoshop) cost money, usually alot. If you are a student you can purchase these programs at a discounted student rate which will save you a considerable amount of money. If you edit photos alot you should consider Adobe Photoshop, it is a complicated program for first timers but its is well worth it in the long run

Download = Picasa2 = from Google it's free and has many photo fix tools - it is free and also helps organize your pictures and many other things that are neat and easy.

There's a free program called Irfanview which is great for photo fixing. (Contrast, brightness, color balance, gamma, resizing, cropping, rotating, sharpening, etc.) It has no drawing tools, though. It opens and saves lots of formats, which makes it useful for other things, too.

Probably need to use a good photo editing program like Photoshop. (if worst comes to worst...send them to me, I'll fix them and send them back to ya)

There is also a free program call GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program.) I have a friend who swears by it.
