I feel my mother IS being overprotective because she says that I can't have boy company at all.She says I have to wait until I move out(I'm 16)and I feel that is stupid. She knows that I go over my boyfirnds house and I ased her wouldn't she rather we be under her supervision and she know what we are doing and she said "No because what ever y'all do at his house y'all ain't gone do at mine."Don't you people who are parents find this stupid?

Supervised....13-14. I wasn't allowed to date 1on1 until 16, and I didn't have a problem with that.

Story: Flashback (wavy lines): I had an unofficial BF at 14. Bill, a boy I knew in school and who lived in the next subdivision over, use to come over during the summer. We would play board games in the living room, worked on a garden in the back yard (we had a great tomato crop that year), and sometimes we would sit out on the porch and talk. My mother would keep a close eye on us, and everyone was happy.

I didn't get to have boy company until I was about 16 or maybe it was 17. Now a days, you have to be overprotective of our kids! These days are even hard for us parents to protect our love ones. Good luck!

I don't think my girls will have boys over till about 14. Maybe younger depending on what they are coming over for. They will not have unsupervised boy company till they are 18. So your mother probably isn't being overprotective she just loves you and knows whats out there protecting you is her job. You are lucky to have that.

I believe in courting not dating, which means my daughter sees a boy she is interested in, in large groups of teens (with other teens that court) and never alone with each other, or at my house always under adult supervision, never alone, this way there is never temptation. I think what your MOm does not udnerstand, if you move out, she cannot supervise you then.
