Even in Scripture when he told everyone that they must do this they said "This is a hard saying" and it says that many left him because of that. Notice that he did not go after them and say hey come back I was only speaking symbolically. No, he let them go and that is because only those who realized that they needed him more than anything else were the ones that were willing to do anything he said. When we eat food in this world , the food becomes a part of us but, when we eat his flesh and drink his blood we become a part of him. It is in a non bloody form but, non the less it is real. In Italy there is a place where there was disbelief in the transubstantiation of the species and the bread actually turned into heart muscle and the wine turned into blood and coagulated in the bottom of the chalice (this was after the consecration and after the congregation had Holy Communion) this miracle was granted due to the unbelief. This is real and still on display in Italy, Just Google Eucharistic Miracles and you will see it.

There is so much historical documentation of the life and death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ outside of the bible that we do not even have to have the Bible for it. o one took Jesus' life, He gave it for us. The wages of the sin was death, Jesus came here to die so that He can pay our ransom. He died so that we do not have to die.
Jesus was here in human form,so He was ableto feel pain. So if we suffer here, He knows also something about the pain.He came here to fre us from religions and to teadh us to have a relationship with God. He was a teacher and the example. Sin separates us from Godand that is why Jesus also did not feel God's presensewhen He had the sins of the world onHis shoulders. He thought that Father had forsaken Him, the same way we do not feel God's presense when we have sins in our life.
Jesus body ( bread ) was broken to us, and His blood ( wine ) was shead to us,so that we can have Salvation. He asked us to take the breadand the wine for His remembrance..so that we remember what He did for us. The Bile says Jesus is the way and the truth and the life, and no one will enter to the Father'shouse expect through Him. We are not saved by our deeds. We aresavedonly by the ercy andgrace of God. But when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior,we also wantto follow His example. We are here to serve each other and to love one another. We will find our purpose in Him..or otherwise this our time here on the earth does not make too much sense.
I think it is the least what I can do to take this holy communion and remember what lenght my Savior went to save my soul. All my sins are covered by His sacrificial death, past, present and future sins. He had to be beaten pretty badso that I can have assurance that also my sinsare covered. I am thankful for Him to make the way for me to the Father's house.I want to be with Him forever. As we have a lot of choices here on the earth, there are only two choices what come to the eternity: hell and heaven...remember, you get to choose. God is God no matter what you think of Him. I place my faith in Him: )

The drinking of his blood and eating of his flesh was a symbolic thing. The last supper didn't really have that, but rather those actions were symbolized by the drinking of the wine and eating of the bread respectively.
As for an answer to your original question: He died to pay for the sins of the entire world. What, may I ask, propaganda are you referring to?

Jesus told us to drink his blood and eat his flesh. He commanded it.
You are using your finite mind to try to understand an infinite God.
Prior to the coming of Christ, the faithful were required to offer up animal sacrifices for their sins. One of the requirements was that the animal be eaten after the sacrifice. This was important and commanded by God. The sacrifce was not complete with out the consuming of the flesh and blood of the sacrifice.
So it is with our Savior the perfect sacrifice for all of humanity...but yes, we must consume the sacrifice to make it complete. It's so important that St. Paul tells us in1 Corinthians 11 " Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be answerable for the body and blood of the Lord. Examine yourselves, and only then eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For all who eat and drink without discerning the body, eat and drink judgment against themselves. For this reason many of you are weak and ill, and some have died"
In the 6th book of John, Jesus tells his followers 6 times...you must eat my body and drink my blood. Jesus didn't repeat himself often...so this was obviously very important. He also never said that he was speaking figuratively. It says in the Bible that when many heard these words they turned away from him. But when they left Jesus still said it again...then turned to his diciples and said.."will you leave me too?"
The Catholic Church has been hearing this ridiculous claim of cannabilism forever. What you are trying to say is nothing new. The Church has repeatedly successfully defended her position on this for 2000 years.

in my opinion, some of it may be propaganda, absolutely. Maybe made to be more dramatic in order to convert people, particularly those who are weak and need something like this to believe in; this story of someone who was a rebel, a little misunderstood just like some of the people who buy into it may be. Also unlike most prophets, Jesus had these 12 apostles. This number of people that were in this with him suggests to me some kind of conspiracy, perhaps serving to dramatize the situation. Could someone who wasn't the son of god devise such a plan?

We are to thank Jesus that He cared enough to die for us, and remember that without Him we would not have the wine and bread by which we remember Him. We are now the body of Christ as He is in us in spirit from God and I will drink the wine and eat the bread in graditude to Him who gave me my life and my salvation.

We are symbolically partaking of HIS body and HIS blood when we partake of the LORD's Supper. HE came, lived, and died in our place. HE was sinless and we are sinners. HE died so that we might live. We are afforded the opportunity to be in Heaven. Study these scriptures and see what you think. To become a Christian:
1. HEAR - Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
2. BELIEVE - In Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
3. REPENT - Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
4. CONFESS CHRIST - 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
5. BE BAPTIZED - Romans 6:3-4 do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
6. CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL - Jesus said in Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
Send me a note if you have questions. I am anxious to hear from you. Have a Great day.

For God so Loved His Son..
I do not understand the drinking of the wine or eating of the bread but it is not monstrous.
If you believe, you believe.
If you do not believe, you do not.
If you have questions ask a Preacher/Priest.

I don't believe in that stuff but if I did I'd probably say; Maybe God is like guys. He is a big show off. He wanted to show that he could withstand pain for our love. Just a biiiiiiiiiiiiig show like 'looooooooook what I can do! I can get nails thrown into my arms and ankles, and I can get up from it all later.' According to Christians, They even say it's because he loves us. But then that's kind of ruined when he says it's for our SINS like we forced him to do it and we have to feel guilty about it. SOME GOD You believe in, christians! : /

He didn't die for me. I wasn't around then. Even as a good seven year old Catholic boy getting ready for my first communion I had sense enough to know that the wine to blood and bread to body transmogrification was only symbolic.
