Its not more plausible, just more original.
At the time of Abraham, there was only ONE monotheistic God, and that was Abrahams. All the others were part of Pantheons, such as the Olympian Gods, Zeus, Hera, etc. Or the Egyptian Gods with Bast, Nut, Anubis, Isis, Orisis, etc. So, when a single God came along that could do what the entire range of gods could do, it was of unique idea to people. Most people couldn't believe one god could equal an entire range of gods and dismissed the idea.
However, when Moses and Pharaoh were have their contest of wills, it wasn't actually Moses and Pharaoh who were fighting. After all, every nite God would harden Pharaoh's heart and then have to perform the new plague. WHAT GOD WAS DOING was attacking a Major God of Egypt with each plague. All 10 plagues were directed at a Major Egyptian God, and each time a plague came, Egypts Gods lost to the God of the Slaves. Everytime. So, we see here that God was equal to the entire of Egypts Gods!

Polytheism is more plausible then monotheism. You don't run into all the problems you would in a monotheistic religion, plus the Gods and Goddesses are more, how say I say, approachable because polytheistic deities tend to be more human like and don't have all the omni traits the monotheists endow their God with.
If one accepts a supremely transcendent God, a God who governs and sustains the vast Cosmos, it is either arrogant or insane to believe that that God could take notice of you, let alone speak directly with you. But, when one accepts a multiplicity of Gods, it is fully possible that some of them could take notice of you, and that it is even within their sphere or power to intervene in your life. It is comforting to believe that God takes note of us, and works in our lives. It is very difficult to accept a blind and impotent God. Therefore I believe in multiple Gods who are not so constrained.

Because the God of Abraham has clearly revealed himself to mankind. For many Christians, he has done miracles and things right in front of our face. Most of us share a relationship with him.
As for you, i dont know. Unbelievers just fumble around in the darkness and have trouble telling the truth from falsehood. I believe monotheism is far more plausible than polytheism just because polytheistic religions dont have a clear picture about why humanity was created, and the creation picture itself. It seems to more focus on worshipping aspects of creation rather than focusing on who actually created the universe.

coming from a *realistic* christian point of view,
theres no point in quoting the bible, if you dont believe in one God you obviously put no trust in the bible, anyways.
theres no real reason for anyone to believe in one over the other. why is it more plausible for you to believe in many Gods rather than scientific theories or that hey, we all were created by a giant eagle in the sky?
there is no reason, thats why its called FAITH
you just believe it.

Because if you study God's Word, there is only One God.
Isa.43:10 Ye are My witnesses, saith the LORD, and My servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me. Isa.43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside Me there is no saviour. Isa.43:12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are My witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.
Isa.44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside Me there is no God.
Rev.1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Isa.44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside Me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
Isa.45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
Isa.45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside Me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside Me. Isa.45:22 Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
Isa.46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me, Isa.46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure:
Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Matt.1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John.1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Eph.4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Heb.2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
I John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are One.
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
I Cor.8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of Whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom are all things, and we by Him.
Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.
