I know I have read a passage that talks about what happens to those who die without having heard the gospel of Christ. It talks about lesser degrees of punishment.
I think it may be (?) in the same spot where Paul talks about it not mattering what day you worship on, or whether you eat meat or not. U_U Maybe it's not with that, though.

Can anyone help me with where to find this?? Thanks!!

This may not be what you're looking for but I think its relevant to your question ...

Romans 2
12Those people who don't know about God's Law will still be punished for what they do wrong. And the Law will be used to judge everyone who knows what it says. 13God accepts those who obey his Law, but not those who simply hear it.

14Some people naturally obey the Law's commands, even though they don't have the Law. 15This proves that the conscience is like a law written in the human heart. And it will show whether we are forgiven or condemned, 16when God appoints Jesus Christ to judge everyone's secret thoughts, just as my message says.

Romans 3
19 Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. 20 For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses[i] and the prophets long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.

27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.

I think the passage you may be looking for is Romans 2.
"of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,"
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and [their] thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. Degrees of Glory and Resurrection--1 Cor. 15:40-41, 51-58

It is not all that clear in the bible but the book of Mormon explains it very well. If you die with out ever hearing the Gospel then you will have the chance in the world to come or the spirit world. That is where the righteous go (to a world of happiness) the unrighteous to a world the bible describes as hell. Until the Resurrection when we will be judged.

What you're referring to is what is called the "White Throne Judgment"....This happens at the very end of the Millennium (1000 yr) rule of Jesus Christ and all the saints who are joint heirs with Christ in the Kingdom of God on earth ...There is a resurrection for all of the people who have ever lived that have never heard nor understood the Gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is a message from God who sent His Holy Spirit ( the spoken word) to us as a messenger (Jesus Christ) from heaven to give us the "good news" that there is a way, the only way back to the Father. That is to REPENT of your sins and be saved for the Kingdom of God is coming!!! It is God's instructions for example: John 3:16, to us concerning our salvation and a way to REDEEM ourselves back to the Father God. That is good news!! There are Literally millions upon millions of people who have never heard or understood the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This will be their first and ONLY chance for redemption! There is no lesser degree of ANYTHING! If you have heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and you understand what you have to do for your salvation, but you choose not to, and you continue on in life the same way until your death, or the return of Christ, you WILL PERISH!! There is NO OTHER WAY! There's no lesser degree!! There's no in-between! You either perish, or you live in the Kingdom of God. That is the TRUTH!........You are also talking about the Sabbath. The Sabbath is one of God's Holy Days. It was intended to be a day of worship between sundown Friday to sundown on Saturday, NOT SUNDAY. You do not work between this time, you worship God your Father! Sunday is in actuallity a "Pagan" day of worship to a false Idol called "Raw", a sun god that Caesar Constantine of Rome worshiped himself and invoked for all to worshiop. He took it upon himself to name this 7th day of rest, "Sun" day. This is just one of the many false Idol taditions that was integrated into the false religion church that Constantine started back in the 4th centruy. They originally worshiped God every 6th day (our Saturday) and rested on the 7th. It was a covenant God made with His people (Jewish) to Honor Him. There are a total of 7 Holy Days. 1) Passover 2) The Feast of Unleavened Bread 3) Pentecost 4) Feast of Trumpets 5) The Day of Atonement 6) The Feast of Tabernacles 7) The Last Great Day.......These are the days that should be kept. Jesus and His apostles kept these days to Honor their Father. And so did everyone else in back then who were of Christ. The death and resurrection of Christ never changed them....man did. The "traditions of men" took them out all together and said they were a "jewish thing" of the old testament. This is not what Jesus said. The corrupt church fathers in a false religion "played god" with the Holy Scriptures ages ago, but today many of the "true" churches who preach the "true" Gospel (Apostolic christianity) of Christ still keep them. These are the "little flock" that Christ refers to in the book of Revelation that have the "open door" to (God's blessing) to do the work of God and preach the Gospel to the world. If you don't keep the Sabbath or the rest of the Holy Days it does not effect your salvation! If you are already a TRUE Christian. But you will not be of the "little flock" and be protected and removed from harms way by God during the 7 yr tribulation. You may very well suffer or even be martyrd during that time.

ROMANS 3:9 What then? Are we in a better position? Not at all! For above we have made the charge that Jews as well as Greeks are all under sin; 10 just as it is written: “There is not a righteous [man], not even one; 11 there is no one that has any insight, there is no one that seeks for God. 12 All [men] have deflected, all of them together have become worthless; there is no one that does kindness, there is not so much as one.” 13 “Their throat is an opened grave, they have used deceit with their tongues.” “Poison of asps is behind their lips.” 14 “And their mouth is full of cursing and bitter expression.” 15 “Their feet are speedy to shed blood.” 16 “Ruin and misery are in their ways, 17 and they have not known the way of peace.” 18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

The lesser degree of punishment is more about the people who PROFESS to be actively doing the work of God and Jesus.

Luke 12:47-48

Not sure about the meat thing. I know JEsus and the Disciples ate lamb, they had it at the last supper.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. (Romans 1:18-20)

I thinks its in the New Testament, somewhere. However, the passage - the verse or the chapters - is not the basis for man's salvation or punishment, if he reads less. As long as he repented and accepted God as his own personal Savior, he will go to heaven. The passages are not meant to be taken literally, they serve as references.
