I think the more important question is when are you going to spay your dog and stop adding to the pet population problem with your poorly bred puppies?

Just a guess, but your brown dam and the gray sire may well both carry the merle gene; mating merle to merle is a bad thing and can result in what you describe (I had a similar circumstance with an unplanned litter but a new sire resulted in a better outcome).
btw, 6 or 7 can happen even with a purebred. My merle female's last litter resulted in 4 of the 6 puppies surviving (one was failing from the get-go and I think mama accidentally smothered the other one).
There's a webboard called something like "chihuahuas of a different color" that you may want to join.

that seems like a large litter for a chihuahua Did she have good prenatel care? did she have plenty of calcium and nourishment before and after delivery? were they still born or did they live a day 2 days ect?Did she always have enough milk for all those puppies and did you help supplement the feedings with puppy formula to make sure they were all getting enough because with lots of puppies sometimes u have to help mom out. and they also need to be kept warm since these dogs dont have alot of hair unless they are the long haired kind. ask your self all these questions and u just may find some answers

Yes, his Chihuahua could have impregnated your Lab. Male dogs are very resourceful when a female is in heat. Thank you for spaying rather then bringing even more unwanted puppies into the world that would likely eventually end up in shelters like so many others. I have seen Chi/Rottie mixes recently at the local shelter, Pit Bull/Mini Doxies, Pug/Pit and all sorts of small/large dog combos. It happens.

If your chi had seven pups my question isn't why did they die but how did she live? Chis are such tiny dogs that I can't imagine that her body was capable of producing seven healthy puppies in a litter. It's very likely that none of the pups received enough of a blood supply to bring them to a healthy maturity to be born even if she received the very best of food and care. I've seen a lot of animals that have abnormally large litters for their species lose most or all of the babies.

Here's some stuff I found:
From Anika's Chihuahuas and Toy Breed Handling Services comes this blue Chihuahua advice: "Blues and chocolates are DILUTES! Breeding two dilutes together will negate any full expression of color in your future litters!!! It can also double up on other hidden defects on genes that link to certain colors."

first of all blue chihuahua arent rare, blue is merely a dilute color of black, if your ***** is light red with amber eyes, then she is a dilute also, it is possible when two dilute colored dogs mate, the resulting offspring have two lethal genes and yes they could die
blue chihauhaus dont as a rule have a problem reproducing, but can have skin disorders and eye problems though
hope that helped
by the way, four pregnancies, and you dont know this??? you shouldnt be breeding dogs

I prefer hair which is shoulder length or longer, As well as since that men who like ladies are more often then not directly, they like long hair because that looks more feminine, as most guys have short hair.
