I want to use linux (i'm a linux n00b) but do not want to have to use teh command line at all... Is this possible in UBUNTU or any other linux distro?

Kubuntu Linux allows you to use the GUI with minimal commands. You can even load directly from the DVD

Don't be afraid of the command line. Do use UBUNTU most of the operations are done using the GUI any way. E.G. ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS, UPDATING and ADDING NEW PROGRAMS.

You may want to become accustomed to the command line by doing some of the things suggested in the starter guide - you just have to copy and paste into command line.
