By Sam Harris. I have heard that Christians are not supposed to read something that might bring doubt to their faith. But some of your faiths are strong, then it shouldn't be a problem. I suggest you read this book as you would any other book of non-fiction. Consider what he has to say and just think about he talks about. It may open your eyes, then again it may keep them shut.

And I was raised in a church, forced to read the bible several times. I said it when I was young and I will say it again, the bible is just a book, written by humans.

No thank you.
Are you brave enough to study a book that was inspired by God?
A book that is ever learning.
A book in which we come to know God.
A book that contains His Spirit.
Do you have any courage at all?

Why can't Christians jest let us have freedom of religion.
If you want to come talk about it fine. Preach to me!
But don't legislate how many times a day the kids have to pray in school. What I can call an evergreen tree and who I have to vote for. You have to vote Republican because they are against abortion. Guess what? More were done under a Republican president than ever before. But you don't see anything wrong with going to war with a country for no reason and killing over 3,000 men who did want to live. Plus God only knows how many Iraq people have died. That is okay because they were born.

I don't think you have to be brave to read something that goes against your belief. I haven't read it but I will because I like a challenge. My eyes are already open and so is my heart and my faith is strong. Most Christians face temptation, distractions and so called "proof" of no God everyday but our faith continues. I have God on my side and nothing will take Him away from me.
May God Bless you.

the newborn grow to be no longer illegitimate, the guy did not prefer to declare her as his second spouse. They slept mutually, hence they married in the flesh. If the society in the e book were quite Bible-depending, the daddy would were responsible for being concerned for that mom and newborn no matter if he needed to or no longer. the adult men and women of Bible situations were given married through going right into a tent and doing the deed. No contracts, no wedding ceremony clothing, no white tarts, etc. Hester Prynne bore her "punishment" with more beneficial type than any member of that city ever possessed, yet no, she did not deserve it as she did not commit any sin.

I have read lots of stuff that some would say bring doubt, not at all, it all helped my faith grow stronger. When you know the truth, reading nonsense means nothing.
I spend my time reading stuff that helps me and lies and nonsense never do. There are only so many hours in a day and I use my reading time carefully.

I've read it. I also have read his ongoing debate with Andrew Sullivan. I liked both The End Of Faith, and A Letter To A Christian Nation. He is alittle brash with harsh analogy of their faith, but all and all they were good. My sister and best friend are both devout Roman Catholics and they will not read them. I have tried to introduce them to "Misquoting Jesus" and neither will read that either. I don't know what it is. It's almost if they see it their lives will be useless. I think it's odd, but that's faith. No rationality and no proof. Odd.

I've been reading the longer "End of Faith" by Sam Harris and I have to eat coffee beans to stay awake. I am kicking myself for not getting "Letter" even if was more expensive (in hardback). He needed a good editor and maybe he eventually got one.
