Should shopping carts have horns on them? How about a rear view mirror?

I think they should. Maybe I'll use a portable boat horn. Every time I go shopping I always get behind someone who thinks they are the only person in the world. I go left, they go left, I go right, they go right. They also like to park their cart in front of something they don't buy that I need. I know they don't do it on purpose & they are just oblivious to what's going on around them. I try shopping at different times & it's the same thing every time. I thought my timing was off so I started skipping a little bit here & there & even that didn't help. I prayed & that didn't work. I sent someone else shopping & they screwed up my order. I had it delivered & they screwed up my order. I asked the managers at the stores to make the aisles wider & they refused. I'm at my wits end. Maybe I'll get one of those bicycle horns or a bicycle bell. Anybody got any ideas? I like the boat horn idea myself. I'll bet that would wake em up! I'm losing a lot of time in a years period.

You are very patient. There's something about the supermarket that makes me want to ram my trolley into the backs of peoples ankles!
Especially when they meet someone they know and decide to have a long loud conversation in the middle of the aisle. And then when you say 'excuse me' they give you THAT look as if to say 'oh, what are you doing there? Cant you just go away? We are having a conversation here'.
It drives me crazy.
I think there should be advertisements on television about supermarket etiquette! Keep left (or right) depending what country you are in. Let people past. Dont block the aisle with the trolley while you are deciding which salsa to buy! These sorts of issues... need solving!
I love your boat horn idea though... maybe some flashing light 'indicators' too and brake lights, to let people know if you are going to stop and be there for a while!

You could borrow a policeman's uniform and carry a scanner that is on. Have this cohort make announcements from the patrol car in the parking lot every five minutes. Plan your aisle trips so when announcements of detainment and pursuit occur, it is on every other aisle that has you walking TOWARD the registers. In that case, everyone will move to the right to let a racing grocery cart policeman by to make a quick exit. Except you never exit. You just go down the next aisle cool and collected. This idea will get you out of the store 50% faster!

YES. My gosh, someone has finally come up with a solution to fix this problem! It's about time. I thought I was the only one that this bothered. They probably drive their cars the same exact way too. Horns, and a rear view mirror. I like it. But how would we get people to use them? First, they have to care that they are not the only one in the stores. These same people know where the horn is in their cars, but not the rear view mirror. Good luck in getting the companies who make the carts interested in your ideas.

I used to hold close the pine tree air freshner from the rear view reflect till one previous due evening once I grew to become a corner and it scared the crap out of me that there replaced right into a tree interior the direction of the line.... yeah final time that tree replaced into ever on the rear view reflect.... Now the only situation I carry close there are my Park passes.

I don't think it will go over but I TOTALLY agree w/you. Have thought of it several times myself.
What I usually do, for those who can hear, I sometimes have literally--after saying 'excuse me,' 'could I get by,' I've gone "Beep! Beep!"
Then, all of a sudden they move !!!
