A female can be spayed while she is in her heat cycle, though most vets prefer not to perform the surgery at that time. There is often an increase in the cost of the surgery for cats that are in their heat cycle at the time. This is because the surgery requires extra attention to detail since the blood supply to the uterus is increased. Nonetheless, it is best to spay a cat during her heat cycle rather than wait because she may become pregnant to contract an illness from a cat she mates with.

I just got my cat spayed. She wasn't in heat the other day but I had originally had an appointment for her a week ago and when she WAS in heat. So of I called and I was about to cancel because I didn't think you could do it but the vet said that they can spay cats when they are in heat, they just can't do it to dogs. So there you go.

Some vet clinics will spay a cat while she is in heat, but they will likely charge more to do so.

Yes and you should get her spayed ASAP. Even pregnant cats can be spayed. But I'm sure you wouldn't want to contribute to kitty abortion.

You can, its probably best to wait, as vets usually charge a bit more while they are in heat.
