I heard on the Radio that instead of using Sugar to sweeten Tea or Coffee or anything else it would be better Healthwise to use Honey instead. As it is a natural Food and very good for you i decided to try it for awhile and bought a Jar. I have not tasted this Stuff in many years and it still tastes so good. My question is do you keep it in the Fridge or just leave it in the Cupboard. I have noticed on the Label that if it gets cloudy you heat it up in a bowel of warm water. Now if you kept it in the Fridge it would Cloud up in the Cold hence it is probably best kept out of the Fridge. It probably is an obvious thing to People who use Honey on a regular basis but I have not used the stuff in maybe 25 years. Also how long does it keep for when the jar has been opened. Thanks very much.

I dont use sugar in Tea at all but use an awful lot in Coffee, this is the reason i want to use the Honey.I have just been tasting the Italian Organic Fair Trade Coffee from Oxfam sweetened with Honey very nice taste. I dont like those little Coffee Cups I prefer an nice big mugful. The Italian People and the French People would Faint at the sight of anyone drinking a mugful of there Coffee. It is not the same buzz in those little Cups, it does not taste as satisfying. Very good answers here so far Thanks to everyone.

As honey in its natural form would remain in a bee hive . The temp of hives can vary along with the seasons and day to day highs and lows in weather . Bee hives last for a very long time and if the honey is not harvested the bees keep on producing . So there fore the honey can last for years in any temperature but its not easy to use if its cold

Honey does not have to be refrigerated. It has an almost infinite shelf life as long it is not diluted. If it crystallizes (turning cloudy is the beginning of crystallization) it is still good. If you are using it to sweeten your tea it doesn't make any difference whether it is clear, cloudy, or nearly solid. If you would rather have it clear then do as suggested and warm the jar in hot or warm water.

Honey will save herbs clean for awhile, yet you nevertheless could be careful and you may refrigerate it. I in many circumstances place garlic and warm chili peppers in liquid honey to apply in stir fries or to comb onto fowl for barbeque. you will be careful whilst cooking with it because it could burn particularly rather. I many times use the honey after a pair of weeks and then save it for under 3 months. be certain to apply sterilized glass jars and lids and you are able to desire to choose to warmth the honey merely before infusing the herbs, and so on. into the honey.

I usually keep the honey out since it could freeze up in the fridge and if it was kept out, it'll be kept fresher far more longer than the fridge.

They found some honey in the pyramids that they reckoned was over a thousand years old and it was still safe to eat!

I keep honey at room temperature. If you refrigerate it, it turns waxy and gets very hard to pour. I've never had honey spoil yet.

in the press, away from direct sunlight is best. also, it never goes off. Honey was found in Egyptian burial sites that was still edible after thousands of years

Store covered at room temp. If mine crystallizes, I usually nuke it.

BTW, cyanide and lead are "natural", but you dont' want to ingest them. Be aware of thinking something is better than another b/c it's "natural." faulty logic there.
