Does it mean he's interested in you, thinks you're sweet, nice, cute, being polite etc.?

It means nothing other that its a habit or he is being sarcastic, humorous or cute.
The word says nothing, it is his action(s) towards you that will gvie a better definition of his intentions towards you.

He probably thinks you are cute, and wants to flirt with you. Don't let it go to your head. If you like him, flirt back. If you don't like him, don't act stuck up just because he called you "Dear." Some people call anyone "Honey" or "Babe" or "Dear" and it's just thier way of being nice, but if it makes you feel good, that's what the intention was, so feel good, and make him feel good too.

you're overthinking it hun lol..means he has a liking to you and thinks you're all the things you mentioned (sweet nice, cute and etc.)

nah.. Don't give meaning to that girl. I also experience the same way. It's just nothing girl. Don't expect. Don't assume. So that you won't get hurt. :)

it could mean a variety of things, depending on the guy. in most cases it means he cares about you. thats what i would think. he could be interested in you, too. however, most guys when they're dating girls or like girls, they don't call her "dear." but it could just be this guy.
