I like using curling irons to curl my hair, but since my hair is long, the curling irons never reach the top of my head, making the curls look kinda lame.

when i had my formal i had hair down to my butt, and i got someone to do it for me, but she used a normal curling iron ... the only difference is, is it was a smaller one, and then you would curl your hair the way you would normally. After each curl spray a little bit of hair spray on it so that it wont fall out! It is hard to curl long hair, but it can be done

get a middle size to small curling iron and instead of clamping the hair with the curling iron. start from the scalp and wrap the hair around the curling iron. you will have to hold the last part of the hair while the hair sets on the iron a while. also ceramic irons are the best my curls stay all day

Okay, this may sound difficult but it isn't really.

I've always done this when I had long hair.

After taking a shower, put mousse in your hair so the volume stays.

Then, Braid your hair in three or two parts.

Wear a head towel, if you have one or pin the braids up, this causes even more bouncy curls.

Wait for about 1 hour or so and then take out everything and spray hairspray RIGHT AWAY.

If you can't wait blowdry then spray hairspray.

For long hair you usually have to buy a larger, thicker curling iron capable of holding more quantities of hair.

Well you could get a perm but then that would be for a long time with curly hair unless you straighten it....so I actually don't know....
