Mentos and Diet coke?

How do you do the experiment with mentos and diet coke? My friend and I tried it and it didn't work at all.

take mentos in 2 liter coke and put the cap on half way and the best way to do it is to pick it up hold it there for like 5 seconds and then throw it on the ground

Tried it with two peppermint lifesavers, it also helps if the bottle is new, not opened until you are ready to make your splash. Have used other sodas. I have found that if you have an extra lid with a hole drilled thru it, you can hang the lifesavers above the soda using a piece of thread until you are ready to go and because of the smaller opening you get a longer and higher spray. You can also google mentos diet coke and get plenty of info from others.

haha i did this in my chemistry class! its really awesome. two liters diet coke + 5 or more mentos threaded on a string or in a mesh bag, drop and RUN! get the minty kind as the fruity kind does not work as well.

take a 2l bottle of coke, skewer mentos in the pipe cleaner and then put it inside the bottle when ready!!

you should used 200 litters any soda because soda made of carbonated substance and mentos or mentolated candy are high in surgar forms when they mix together they will form abig foamy or produces highly form of oxygen.so some people do it for fun just to splash like newly pop champagne bottle.

you have to put a whole pack of metos in the 2l of Drpepper diet for it too work
