When happens if a police officer collies with another vehicle. Do they both show insurance and call the police?

If the officer is driving his private vehicle or an unmarked car, he would probably have to comply with the local regulations regarding accident involvement.

If he is driving a patrol car or has emergency lights (flasher and/or siren activated), he'd be well within rights to just ignore the local regulations and probably will write a citation (ticket) against you. (This is known in the trade as "CYA")

I think the officer involved has to call his supervisor, who will respond to the scene to fill out appropriate paperwork. If it is the officer's fault, and not yours, I would not involve your insurance company at all! There is no need for them to know since you did not cause the wreck. The state or county will use their own insurance to assist you.

In a way, yes, because the officer involved will have to call in his shift supervisor. If it is the shift supervisor, he will have to call the chief out.
