I met someone at work who wooed and captivated my attention. I didn't like him at the start but because he gave me a lot of attention, I found myself drawn to him. And just when I thought we were starting something beautiful, he confessed to me that he got engaged in Europe when he went on vacation and wanted to discuss it with me. I wanted the floor to open up and swallow me. I've never been physical with him yet and I'm thankful for that but what happened here?

I am sorry to hear that he became engaged. What he did was selfish in a way, but on the other hand, it seems like he does have some kind of feeling for you. He couldn't tell you because he wanted to see what you were all about. If he would have told you from the start, he would not have gotten that opportunity. That single act was the selfish part. Once he noticed that you believed it could possibly be going somewhere, he explained to you his problem, and in turn, gave up his chances to become physical. If he was engaged, physical is probably what he was going for, but once he got to know you, he learned to respect you. He told you only for that reason, that you are a good person, and he did not want to take the chance of hurting you any further. I am sorry that this happened, but keep your head up, when all seems lost, that person you have dreamed about will come and sweep you off of your feet. This is the first question I have ever answered on here and I hope that it helps you. Obviously you are a good person and deserve better, and he realized that. Keep being who you are, and never change for anyone. It will be right when someone loves you for you. Good Luck.

Office relationships are bad, not always, but majority of the time. However you do have merit on your side that you didnt get physical.
Anyway, back to the question, perhaps he is a flirt and/or over friendly in nature.
On the other hand, he may have wanted something naughty before getting tied.
You need to see both sides of it and figure which one is he....then go from there.

Sounds like the boy is too easily committed to "loving" and marrying women. I'd steer clear as you could get yourself into something messy.
