My daughter will graduate from ft rucker soon as an army helicopter pilot (blackhawk)t. she will be commisioned a 2nd lt. can i provide her with a personal side-arm that she can bring with her (legally or not ) and what weapon would you recommend?
if she can't do it legallly, how do i get it to her?
i am a former sgt of marines (non-combat vet)

fyi: i qualified "pistol" with a personal colt gold-cup. could i give it to her as a "legacy" weapon ?

chuck d, are you tellin me you weren't packin personal heat? what cal ammo is there and how do i arm my girl to the teeth?
i know 9 and 45. prefer 45, what else

Absolutely not.... She will be issued an M-9. If you try to send her a weapon it, she will never receive it and it will be confiscated.
Also you will probably receive an unfriendly knock at your door and she could possibly receive some non-judicial punishment if she knew anything about it.

She's not legally allowed to bring a personal weapon into a combat theatre. I doubt she'll need it anyway. She'll be issued a weapon, plus each helicopter is well armed.

If you're a former Marine, you should already know this. Don't risk getting her into unnecessary trouble out there.

I was with KBR in Iraq in the recent past and am certain that Uncle Sam will issue her a nice M9 to carry. If she is lucky she will never have to unholster it.
