I downloaded limewire so I could download free music.Is this illegal.Could I be arrested?Im only 11 and I dont want my life wasted in jail.PLEASE HELP ME!

Wtf???Im not a geek.People have been arrested for downloading free music.I dont even have glasses in real life.

no you cant get arrested oh yeah by the way since you are only 11 they cant arrest you they will come and just arrest your parents so lock your doors all the time and hide before they get your parents because then you would be put in foster care

a few things first:
1. Pirating music or movies or any other copyrighted material IS A CRIME!
2. while enforcement of piracy laws is lacking it still could be enforced at any given time by any officer just bored enough to push the issue.
3. the whole "everybody's doing it" crap is for weak minded morons and for folks with no spine or honor.
lots of people download music and movies and lots of other things. it is illegal and punishable. besides limewire kinda sucks!
pay the few bucks and buy the disc. if you were a music artist making your living by putting out songs and your "fans" just gave out your music and killed all record sales for you, would you be happy? if you like a particular band or song, just buy it! that's a good way to show that you like it, and to let them know that you (the fans) would like to see more new albums on the shelves. they will make more if there is money in it...so keep the money in it!

Although it isn't terribly likely, yes, you could. File sharing, while very common, is illegal, and every once in a while they will crack down on some group or other. It is less likely that you would be arrested as an 11-year old than if, say, you were a college student living in a dorm, since they have a harder time monitoring your on-line activity.

The worst is a huge fine, but from every news story I've heard about this whole issue, they are mainly going after people who are uploading and sharing the music off of copywrited cd's or mp3's. They don't really bother the people who are just downloading the music.

Just because you click delete, doesn't mean its deleted. It is still embedded into your hard drive and its difficult to really delete files on the computer. If your not like a hard core downloader you won't go to jail.

You chance of getting arrested is SLIM. and if anything you would get prosecuted for uploading (that is sharing your music with others) rather than downloading.
So just change your settings to prevent seeding if you're scared of getting arrested.

No, you cant get aressted. Ive heard of some people getting fined for downloading music but thats rare. So you just gotta take your chances.

yes you could be arrested,so when you do get arrested here some advice don't drop the soap and sleep with your back against the wall and always sleep with one eye open...ha ha

it's illegal, but there are millions of people downloading music from illegal sources so there is no chance of you being arrested
