I have a golden retriever and if you drop anything she picks it up....more so for me than anyone else in the family since she follows me constantly. Do other breeds do this too?

This is what these dogs were bred for. Hunting and retrieving (ducks, pheasants, etc.)
Other breeds such as Spaniels and Pointers we bred for similar purposes.
You must remember that these are very old breeds. Dogs were not just pets back in the day. They truly served a purpose. Mainly for hunting.

a lot of dogs do that, but Golden's, there the best at it, great isn't it, that trait is why ya see them as therapy dogs for the handicapped.

Terriers don't. Unless you're dropping food.
