im looking to buy a car. ive found one on auto trader that i really like. it is in my price range. ive contacted the guy about the car. the only thing is that i have to pay for it on yahoo before it is shipped to my address. i get a 10 day grace period to check the car out and make sure i like it. he said that yahoo will hold my payment for 10 days and if i dont like the car then i can send it back with no charge on me. and i will get my money back. the guy is in the military and out of the country. i have never done anything like this before and im need some really good advice about this. i do not have the credit to go to a dealship and buy a car. the only reason i was even thinking about doing this is because the car looks great. i done a carfax report on it. nothing on there. im just stuck and dont want this to be a scam seller. i dont know what to look for on the finance page, because im new to this so if anyone has ever bought a car off yahoo please tell me how you did it...

Don't take the risk. It's not worth it. Keep looking for a car in your area, you will find something.

Honey this is too important to come here with it. See if you can track down a costumer service phone number from the finance page and asks the questions there.

I've never used Yahoo! Autos before, but this whole thing about holding the payment for 10 days sounds fishy to ME. If it is a true service provided by Yahoo!, it's a good one.

if hes running it through yahoo that's better than buying it strait off e-bay,and with there guarantee on this ,its pretty safe, but when it got here id really have it checked over real good,if hes that confident in it,there's probably nothing wrong with it,the financial part of it yahoo will send you ,its fairly simple ,but there,s a percentage on it i think the buyer has to pay,its not that much, but you will be liable for paying this ,but only after you decide you want to keep the car, other than that it sounds like a pretty good deal ,if you need a car bad, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

Sounds like a scam. I sold a car when I was overseas in the military. Except I didn't sell it, I had my dad sell it for me. He's obviously got someone to hold onto the car for him, but they can't handle the sale? Bullshit.

Where's the guy stationed, Nigeria?

Frankly, I'd never buy a vehicle sight unseen off a web page. Do you know the title is clear? No.

never buy something that expensive if you cant see it or test drive it..if you must ,pay for it with a credit card, you will have some recourse for recovery if its a scam..if you are asked to pay cash, beware

you can go to yahoo help and ask the same question..they will be able to give you 1st hand information, which would carry more weight hearing it from them...thats what i would do, good luck !!
