by Jan 31st you have not received your W2, call the employer and ask them if they have been sent. If by Feb 15th you have not received it, call the Internal Revenue Service at 1-800-829-1040 and file a W2 complaint. They wil take a report and send you a form that you can use as a subsitute, you will need your last paycheck stub when you call, along with the name, address and phone# of the employer and what dates you worked for them

They are both wrong. The W-2 has to be postmarked on or before Jan 31. And I would NOT estimate anything. If you don't get it by the 15 of Feb. Call your Human Resources department to make sure it was sent to the right place, or to request a replacement. Most places require you to fill out a form.

Your employer should have mailed you one by January 31. If you haven't received one, it may have been mailed to the wrong address. Call your employer and request a replacement.

If you can't get one from your employer, you can use the numbers from your last check stub to estimate/determine what your W-2 would have contained.
