I get my taxes done through a tax service every year and I always go to the same person there, should I tip this person as I would my hair stylist or a waiter/waitress?

No,unless you feel guilty not doing so. I would think that you already pay for the service.

No, You are already paying this person that prepares your taxes for you. It is their job. Please do not make it a habit to make others feel guilty for not doing it. Tipping is over rated and shouldn't even be an issue. Waiter/waitress are the two people that you should only need to give a tip too and no one else.

What give them more money, definately not, When you have your hair cut or go for a meal you are paying for the good personal service that you have enjoyed, Your taxes pays the person that prepares them , No you don't tip them.

No. They should be earning a good wage. Waiters and waitresses are tipped because they are not paid a wage that anyone could survive with. So our tips are actually their wages.

I wouldn't tip someone at a tax service but if it were a friend I'd get them a gift certificate or something.

No. Do not tip your tax preparer. If you do want to do something kind for them, send a small gift around the holidays. Similar to what you'd do for your mailman.

No. It would be inappropriate due to the fact they already receive a fee for service in proportion to your benefit.

I'm not going to start that one. I already pay big $$ to have my taxes done.

It's all about how you feel. There are no rules about tipping, you can tip the mailman when he drops your mails.
