Have you seen the pro legal answer that no matter what how lies are coming out about this, they continue to let anything that happens to these men be an excuse to deprive them of their human rights. If illegal aliens are attacking them in person they just seem to think that's just o.k and if and but. How do these people sleep at nights. They are Responsible for them.

Obviously some people have not researched this case as well as others have.
Facts that have come to light: SO FAR.

1 Homeland Security will not release documents in the case against Agents Ramos and Compean.
2 Ballistics data don't support charge against Border Patrol Agents.
3 Ramos and Compean. U.S. Attorney is guilty of malicious prosecution.
4 Wrong law used to convict Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean.
5 More outrage: Border Patrol Agent Ignacio Ramos is assaulted.
6 Prosecutor accused of hiding smuggler's 2nd drug bust
Suspect in case against border guards given free pass on charges.
7 Author of DHS border-agent report lied to Congress.
8 Border-agent investigator had tie to smuggler
Played major role in Ramos-Compean case but name blacked out in report.
9 Jurors say they were misled to convict agents.

Thank God American people have rallied behind these courageous men..or they would have been locked away to set an example..I don't get the "example" .What I see is our government is promoting illegal drugs passed out on our streets to our children. Sign the petition to urge President Bush to pardon Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean, address below.

Because they are not illegal and their cause won't bring the liberals votes. Haven't you realized by now that people who actually abide by and protect the laws of this country mean nothing? We have no rights. Look at the soldiers in Iraq doing their jobs. What happens to them? They get put on trial for war crimes and murder.

Proof under Oath .. Officials at the Department of Homeland (In)Security LIED to have these Border Agents convicted of MORE LIES.. this was a nationwide scare tactic that BACKFIRED .. Agents Ramos and Compean should have been awarded the Medal of Honor .. keep fighting the good fight for these two AMERICANS .. support them with all you are .. they deserve nothing less.

It's funny the response you got saying they HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RULES, well doesn't that apply to the illegal drug smuggling Mexican who is suing the U.S. for 5 million dollars?

Also, they weren't even sure if they shot him, he ran away into a waiting vehicle and was gone. As far as Ramos and Compean go, they should have been suspended without pay for a week at the most. It's funny to hear so many pro illegals talk about following the rules, the hypocrisy is astounding.

I think it sends a clear message to the border patrol, if you shoot, shoot to kill.

Edit - everyone should be held accountable for their actions, and when you mess up, you deal with the consequences. Do you really believe the punishment fits the crime?

Jan J - right on, already signed it

Vegaswoman - sorry I didn't see your 'edit' because I gave you a thumbs down, read what 'Jan J' added, you and I will never agree, and that's ok

Look at it this way, when applying for immigration benefits if you lie in the process the immigration service responds with " now we caught you in this lie, why should we believe anything else you say. Same as in the judicial system if you make a statement and then recant, it makes it more difficult believe any other statements you are likely to make. Now it's coming out that the border patrol agents shot 1-2 clips of shots, then picked up the shell casings to cover up how many shots were actually fired. And lastly if the agents surnames were Smith, Johnson or anything other than Spanish or Mexican, they would have at most been fired and at least suspended for 3 days.

Slack Action and Jan J you guys are right on!! Jan great information!!

Vegaswoman~ your edit is appreciated but like Slack Action said you and I will never agree on this. there are just too many things that stink in this case

One more thing I would like to add, there has been b*tching and moaning about these agents not filing reports. They are not allowed to file reports, they are suppose to give a report to their supervisors verbally. This was done at the seen, the Supervisors were there and knew what had happen.

They most certainly have human rights. They also need to do their job right and report ALL incidents. It's nobody's fault that they didn't report the inncident but their own.Although I do think 10 years is extreme, they need to face their punishment for what the did wrong.Mabey next time , if there is a next time, they'll do their jobs the way their supposed to!!

There is no way you can justify , what the Government has done to these men and if anything happens to them , we should hold Bush personally responsible .
There should have been a pardon . The prosacuter and judge should be investigated as to why there was a rush to judgment .

It is unreal the way that they are being treated.
I think that someone just hated them as it is amazing to me that the word of a drug dealing smuggling person is taken over a sworn officer.

the only problem with the officers is that they were obviously not trained better on the rifles.
Dead witnesses have a harder time testifying
