since the baby defends itself against the attack of the abortion? Doesn't that require individuality, the defense of the unborn against the mothers act to end it implies two wills at odds, not one will?

Your only going to get a bunch of answers telling you to retake elementary biology, from the pro-lifers. It can't just be a part of the mother it has its very own unique DNA and electrical signature. The difference is only in location and development, just as I was once an adolescent, I was also once a fetus, all human. Need to get over the idea that a baby is a disease that needs to be cured.

B/c the baby isn't alive until the 24-26 week... it has to be aborted before/at/around four months. Duh.
