most therapists consider it unethical to have physical contact with their patients

It's unethical alright, there are many who've been struck off [deregistered] when they do cross that boundary.

It's not personal, it's about the fact that a therapist / client relationship is unequal, the therapist has power over his or her client.

Think of how you feel when that person shows empathy & seems the only person who cares about you, it's so easy to misread that messages as genuine affection, their concern is genuine but it should remain 'clinical'.

If you continue to have these thoughts talk to the therapist & change to someone else, you may have allready have compromised the relationship.

P.S. Just by seeing someone else does not mean it's OK, the ethical boundary still stands for former clients.

you can't.thats against their rules of being a therapist...
