She was off her food on Tues night and wouldnt eat on Wed morning so I took her to the vet. They said she was fine, I took her back on Friday as she still wasnt eating and they said PARVO. She was throwing up but that has now stopped, has not had the runs. She has been on fluids and in the vets since Friday so this is day 5 of her been sick. She is just flat. Although the vet said she looked happier this morning. What are her chances that she will pull through this? Im really worried and I love her to bits.

Oh I feel so bad for you. I have had two dogs with parvo. I lost a very small puppy at 4 months to parvo. She just could not make it. I held her when she died. Still breaks my heart.

A few years later I had an 8 month old small puppy get parvo. He had his shots but probably caught if from our grass (the virus lingers for years) We saved him. I owe it to two things. A very good vet and a product call Parvaid. You need Parvaid. You will have to get it by mail. Vets do not carry it.

I believe Parvaid would have saved my first puppy. It saved my next one.

It sounds like she will be ok. The main thing with parvo is getting it diagnosed early so the vets can treat it. I have treated a lot of Parvo pups in my day and if the owners leave them in our care they almost always come out fine. If the owners refuse and take the pup home they almost always died. I think your dog will be fine but hopefully you learned (unfortunately you learned the hard way) why puppies need ALL three sets of puppy shots because one shot does NOT protect them. I hope your puppy gets better.
If you have any quesitons about it email me and I would be happy to tell you what I know

I dont think she has parvo because parvo kills in a matter of hours and it is a disease of the bowel so the symptoms are diarrhoea with blood, it is also very contagious, one shot wont protect her because a puppy's immune system is still weak, after the second shot the pup should be protected. just keep the fluids up and it will pull through

If she is under vet care..............she should be fine. Parvo IS VERY serious.........and there seems to be an outbreak of it lately, but I think you got her to the vet early enough that they should be able to cure her.......I don't know what you mean by "she is just flat". But as long as you leave her at the vet and allow them to do whatever they need to do, she should be OK. Make sure she gets a parvo vaccine every year, this is a disease that is re-establishing itself, it seems.

her chances are very slim. my puppy had parvo once. it's a disease that eats the insides of the dog. it's really sad. my dog just ran off one day and we found him three streets over dead.

SORRY TO HEAR THIS.MY SIS HAD 8 PUPPIES COME DOWN WITH IT SHE LOST 6 DUE TO PARVO.I WOULD KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THE DOG IF YOU FEEL SHE IS NOT GETTING BETTER YOU MUST ACT FAST .THEY CAN BLEED INTERNALLY AND THROW UP BLOOD AND DIE..IF YOU CATCH IT SOON THEY HAVE A GREATER CHANCE AT SURVIVAL.GOOD LUCK.

wow! im so sorry!

most dogs have a 20%-25% chance of survival.

75% will not pull through.

i really hope the best for you, i really do.

good luck! :)

sounds like she will make it, your vet could give you the best answer though, Good luck with her, and keep her away from other dogs that you don't know.
