themselves which lasts forever and the value others remember
which is fleeting and soon forgotten

A person has many values, some are:
Life - he/she is as valuable as life itself as others may depend on him/her for sustenance
Insurance companies value life using an age chart. The younger you are the more valuable you are to them.
A hater does not value the hated
Some hire killers for a coupla hundred dollars and they get takers too
Each person lives their lives the way they value it - some seek success, some drugs
Society sets values on a person based on their physical looks or their talents
Society can also undervalue someone because of their creed or race
Some are value by rank
Some are valued by emotional need, love, care-giving etc.
Some are valued because they are a good friend
Derelicts are not valued by most people.\
And some believe God/Jesus values them that means Satan has a policy on those people too.

I would say of Great Value, look at all these scriptures!
"Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?" Matthew 6:26
Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. But the very hairs of your head are numbered. Therefore do not fear; you are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31
"What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? And if it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. Thus it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish. Matthew 18:12
What woman, if she has ten silver coins and loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, 'Rejoice with me for I have found the coin which I had lost!' In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Luke 15:8-10

In raw materials, maybe around $20?
But seriously though - all people are of irreplaceable value to someone. Most of us have someone we love and who loves us back. To those we love and to those who love us - no value can be placed on a person because each of us is irreplaceable.

A person is highly valued. God told us He valued life so much that anyone who takes a life should be put to death.

The fact that not one person is alike. You can replace anything, but not anyone, that is why each and every person has value. It is common sense, pure logic. Religion does not factor in.

A person's value, in my opinion (and religion), is determined through the good that he/she does for others.
