Not even an ambulance chaser would ever pursue it in court, it has so many loopholes in it.
1) you had an inherent responsibility to verify if there was no salt
2) there is the legal probability that you could have put the salt on after you left and with no witnesses to verify you didnt...
3) There was no actual damage, tearing toddlers are the norm, proving discomfort or damage would be impossible other than hearsay evidence on your part which has little value in court.

I'm amazed that with your child screaming and in pain, you took the time to go back through the drive thru and talk to the manager. In a situation where property damage or injury is threatened, your first obligation is to mitigate the damages by doing whatever you have to do to prevent them from getting worse. Because your child was still suffering while you chose to go through the drive-thru again and talk to the manager, a case could be made for your being negligent in not getting him to a washroom immediately where you could rinse his eye completely out. Apparently your child suffered no injury and you didn't see the need to take him to the doctor or ER so I don't think you can take this anywhere beyond just complaining to the manager and McDonald's corporate.

no longer cool. there is an cost linked with hiring and education workers. you're able to no longer be taking benefit of a employer to your study. as a substitute, communicate with a supervisor and ask in case you are able to volunteer there for study on your paper. Or ask to interview workers or ask that they fill-in nameless surveys. And now you're asking the comparable question two times. you're actually not over qualified.

NO you shouldn't pursue this. Your child is not permanetly damaged. It was just salt. People make mistakes all the time.
